Let's talk Apps

"There's an app for that".  5 little words that have become so common in our lives that it's hard to imagine what we did before Google Play and iTunes. There seems to be an app for pretty much everything.  Have you ever used "coin flip" to choose heads or tails?  Or how about "Fist Pump" to show your support for the Jersey Shore cast?  I couldn't believe there is a game called "Send me to Heaven," where you throw your phone into the air and earn points based on how high it flies. My guess is that the game ends when your phone crashes on the ground.

Even though there are some pretty ridiculous apps out there, there are also some that we simply can't live without.  Here's a list of my favorites....

I've become obsessed with LinkedIn lately, following my favorite companies, CEO's, groups that I belong's just a great way to stay connected to the business world and to socialize with colleagues.

Don't knock it, till you try it.  Fruit Ninja is my go-to game when sitting on the tarmac waiting for my plane to take off.  It's simple, mindless entertainment.

Who prints directions anymore?  Google Maps is a necessity while traveling, especially when I'm in a new place.  My favorite feature is being able to search for things near my location.... looking for a caffeine fix, no problem just look up the nearest Starbucks and you're set!

Truth be told, I cannot live without my Facebook app.  It's the easiest way to keep track of friends and events.  Birthday cards and party invitations are a thing of the past. It's easier than ever to organize your social calendar and communicate with friends and family on FB.

For anyone who uses Amazon's cloud services, you know that this app is a necessity.  Our entire music collection is on Amazon which makes this app perfect during long drives, trips to the gym, dog walks, afternoon blogging...pretty much any time.

Reddit. Is. Fun.  Whether it's watching a dog fall off a couch, reading last nights hit tv show highlights, or keeping up with the news, there's always something interesting to read.

"Open up to the World".  This is a great way to keep up with current events, politics, entertainment & tech news.

Nature sounds are the best medicine for sleep.  My favorite channels are Rainstorms and Waves. It's the best way to relax and end a busy day.

So those are some of my favorite's.  What are the apps that you can't live without?
